Onyx News
Early Fall 2009

Well. Here we are heading toward the fall after this very different summer.

If you read our last newsletter, you know we had a very busy spring, decided to take it easy during the summer and are just beginning to plan for what is shaping up to be another busy fall/winter/spring for ONYX.

So, what’s new you say? New music. New web site (will launch in September). New adventures.

We have added four new songs to our Repertoire…three traditional/show tunes and a 60s song written by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys; three more will be added over the next couple of months…one more for our inspirational package and two more from the early 60s: a Ben E. King chart (doo wop version) and another from Ricky Nelson’s catalogue.

Our Webmaster is putting the finishing touches on our new baby. We think you’ll like the look.

In September, we have the honour of judging a novice quartet competition in Barrie. More about that in our fall newsletter.

Before our summer break, we managed to squeeze in a couple of Relay for Life performances with our brothers-in-harmony, the Upper Canada Chordsmen and finished with a delightful pre-wedding party (above photo), for one of the daughters and now-son-in-law of our bass, Wilf Lemieux. What a treat!!

Perhaps we will bump into some of you as we take our show on the road over the next few months. Be sure to say “Hi”. When the web site launches, we will be sure to let everyone know; you can follow our travels on the ‘Events’ page.

Enjoy what’s left of the summer.

Best wishes from
